Have you ever found in the critical emergency to send a gift, flower or a cake to a family member or a friend? Well doing some research and being in the cake business my self i developed a fast solution for your needs. You can currently order birthday cakes in some websites but be prepare to pay premium prices for shipping. Shipping costs can be ridiculously expensive using traditional carriers such as UPS, FedEx and DHL in some cases charging more than $120.00 standard overnight for a average 10 to 15 pound cake.

10" cakes are ideal for a 12x12x5 box - USPS large box can be used and ca be delivered in 2 - 3 days. It's not convenient to use butter cream or other soft cakes like moose or whipped cream. Try using regular Betty Crocker icing and baking regular Victoria sponge bread. Dry Ice can be used for cold cakes but it's not really necessary. To find dry ice look on your yellow pages for the local Ice company and ask them to sell you 5 pounds of dry ice. Use a hard plastic cover normally sold in stores or bakery shops for shipping, put the ice on plastic bags and pad it around your circular cake. Take your cake to the local UPS or FedEx office and have them ship it to your destination.
